
With the aim of promoting gender equality in the peace process, Alliance for Gender Inclusion in the Peace Process (AGIPP) held a “Women, Peace and Security Seminar” by delivering the voices and experiences of women to the responsible authorities at Novotel Hotel on 5th December. The following two main issues were discussed at the seminar-
- Issues relating to Wa IDPs and refugee return and resettlement
- Sexual violence issues during Wa conflict and its challenges
Recommendations based on the discussions during the seminar were presented at the Enlightened Myanmar Research Foundation (EMReF) office by Zun Pwint from AGIPP, Nang Vo Kham from WAPAN, Seng Zin from KSWN, Thu Zar Aye from WON, Mi Seik Htaw from MNEC and Mi Ngwe Lay from MWN on 6th December. Later, discussions in relation to the recommendations were carried out with the CEO Daw Myat Thet Thitsar and senior researchers of EMReF. The feasible ways of collaborations between EMReF and AGIPP were added in the discussions as well.
